Aviation Progress

Aviation has gone a long way since the first time man took to the skies. Gone are the days of the old analog type instruments and navigational equipment. Instead of a hundred dials buttons and switches, cockpit management is now pilot user friendly. Everything is DIGITAL and COMPUTERIZED. Navigational instruments are clustered and integrated into one large screen. Just feed info into the flight computer system and the aircraft will take you to your given destination. The advent of the Global Positioning System (GPS) has shortened the pilot's workload of navigating accurately. In fact, the latest high tech computer assisted airplanes of today are known to land by itself without pilot control. But of course pilots would rather land their planes manually. Another innovation is the TCAS or anti collision system. It tells the pilot to avoid mountainous areas. Wow! What a great way to fly! Visit www.garmin.com In the Air.
